Reflective Sheeting

Reflective sheeting works by retroreflection: light from headlights goes in, bounces off glass beads or microprisms inside the film, and comes straight back to the driver. That is why a road sign looks bright at night from the wheel while an ordinary printed sign goes dark. Jin Yu supplies engineering grade (glass bead), high intensity and microprismatic sheeting, printable and plotter-cuttable.

The grades ladder up in brightness and lifespan. Engineering grade is the economy workhorse - traffic and safety signs with roughly 7 years of service. High intensity steps up brightness for busier roads. Microprismatic returns the most light and lasts longest, the grade for highway signage and demanding sites.

Working with it is straightforward: cut letters and borders on a plotting cutter, screen print or use digital grades where artwork is needed, apply to clean aluminium or plastic sign blanks. The adhesive is pressure-sensitive - position carefully, because repositioning after it bites is hard.
