acrylic

Acrylic sheet - PMMA, often known by trade names such as Plexiglas - combines glass-like clarity with roughly half the weight and many times the impact resistance. Jin Yu supplies clear, coloured, frosted and mirror acrylic sheet for signage, point-of-sale displays, light boxes and architectural detailing.

Extruded acrylic offers tight thickness tolerance and lower cost, making it the default for flat signage and glazing panels. Cast acrylic has better optical quality, machines more cleanly and resists crazing when laser cut or engraved, which is why it is preferred for premium displays and intricate work. Mirror acrylic adds a reflective metallic finish that replaces glass mirror where weight or breakage is a concern.

Acrylic cuts cleanly on CO2 laser cutters, routers and saws, thermoforms readily, and bonds with solvent cement. It is suitable for long-term indoor use and, in UV-stabilised grades, extended outdoor service. Custom thicknesses, sheet sizes, colours and private-label OEM are available from our Foshan factory.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers specific to this product category.

Cast or extruded acrylic - which should I choose?
Choose cast acrylic for laser cutting, engraving, polishing and premium displays - it has better optical clarity and does not craze under heat. Choose extruded acrylic for flat signage panels and glazing where tight thickness tolerance and lower cost matter more.
Can acrylic sheet be used outdoors?
Yes, in UV-stabilised grades. Acrylic has excellent weather resistance and typically retains clarity for 8-10 years outdoors. Standard grades may yellow slightly faster under intense sun, so tell us if the application is exterior and we will match the grade.
What thickness do I need for signage?
2-3mm suits small indoor signs and laser-cut lettering. 5mm is the common choice for flat sign panels and point-of-sale displays. 8-10mm and above is used for structural displays, standoffs and applications needing rigidity.
Does acrylic laser cut cleanly?
Cast acrylic laser cuts with a polished, flame-finished edge straight off the machine and is the preferred grade. Extruded acrylic cuts but tends to leave a slightly hazier edge and is more prone to stress crazing.
