How to Choose: Cold vs Thermal Lamination
Choose cold laminate when the print cannot take heat
Vehicle wraps, floor graphics, and anything already mounted on rigid board. Cold film bonds with pressure-sensitive adhesive at room temperature, so there is no risk of shrinking, curling or ink re-melt.
Choose thermal laminate for the hardest wearing surface
Heat-activated EVA bonds into a tighter, more scratch-resistant layer - the right choice for menus, maps, counter graphics and anything cleaned or handled daily.
Match the finish to the viewing distance
Gloss deepens colour and suits photo prints and retail graphics. Matte kills glare under shop lighting. Satin sits between the two, and 3D textured film adds a tactile surface for exhibition and premium packaging work.
Order 10-15% more film than the print
Laminating wastes more material than printing - trim, alignment and re-dos add up. On a 50 m job, budget a spare 5 m rather than stopping mid-run.
