Laser Cutting Materials

CO2 laser work lives or dies on the sheet: cut the right material and the edge comes off polished; cut the wrong one and you get melted fuzz, scorch marks or worse. Jin Yu supplies the sheets that behave under the beam - cast acrylic in clear and colours, PS sheet, PET film and laser-grade felt and fabric - in laser-friendly thicknesses.

Cast acrylic is the material the laser was born for: the beam vaporises the path and heat-polishes the edge in the same pass, so lettering and intricate shapes come off the bed finished. It also engraves to a crisp frosty white - the standard treatment for awards, signage and LED edge-lit pieces. Extruded acrylic cuts too, but the edge is less forgiving on thicker sheet.

Not everything belongs in the machine. Uncoated PVC releases chlorine gas and eats machine internals - Jin Yu's PVC-free sheet range exists precisely for laser shops. PET film cuts and engraves cleanly for stencils and gaskets; felt and natural fabric cut with a sealed, slightly darkened edge for display and apparel work.
