laser-cutting

CO2 laser cutting turns sheet material into finished parts in a single pass, but not every material behaves well under the beam. Jin Yu supplies cast and mirror acrylic, PET laser film and PVC board selected for clean, predictable laser results.

Cast acrylic is the benchmark laser material: it cuts with a flame-polished edge straight off the machine and engraves to a crisp frosted contrast. Mirror acrylic cuts on the reverse side so the reflective face stays pristine. PET laser film produces intricate decorative work, and PVC board suits jigs, templates and display components.

Because laser behaviour depends on grade, we specify which materials are laser-safe and at what thicknesses. Custom thicknesses, sheet sizes, colours and private-label OEM are available from our Foshan factory, with samples so you can dial in settings before production.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers specific to this product category.

Which materials cut cleanly on a CO2 laser?
Cast acrylic is the best performer - it gives a polished edge and crisp engraving. Mirror acrylic, PET laser film and PVC board also cut well in the right grades and thicknesses. Always confirm the grade, because some plastics release hazardous fumes when laser cut.
Can I laser cut PVC?
PVC can be laser cut but releases chlorine gas, which is hazardous to operators and corrosive to machine optics. It requires proper fume extraction and is prohibited in some workshops. If you cut PVC regularly, talk to us about alternative substrates or router-friendly grades.
Cast or extruded acrylic for laser work?
Cast acrylic is strongly preferred: it cuts with a clear polished edge, engraves with better contrast, and does not craze. Extruded acrylic cuts but tends to leave a hazier edge and can develop stress cracks, especially on intricate shapes.
What thickness can be laser cut?
Most hobby and small-format CO2 lasers handle acrylic up to 8-10mm with a clean edge at 40-60W, while 100W+ machines go thicker. Thinner sheets (2-5mm) cut faster and with better edge quality. Tell us your laser power and we will recommend a thickness.
