Buyers in Southeast Asia have an advantage that buyers in Europe and the Americas do not: the factory is a few days away instead of a few weeks. Short transit means lower freight per order and faster restocking, which is worth more than a small difference in unit price. This is how the route works out of our base in Foshan, Guangdong.
Ports and transit times
We dispatch through three South China gateways: Foshan local port, Guangzhou (Nansha / Huangpu) and Shenzhen (Yantian / Shekou). Typical transit to the main regional hubs:
- Haiphong / Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam — 3 to 5 days
- Bangkok / Laem Chabang, Thailand — 5 to 7 days
- Jakarta / Surabaya, Indonesia — 7 to 10 days
- Port Klang / Penang, Malaysia — 4 to 6 days
- Singapore — 3 to 5 days
- Manila (North / South), Philippines — 3 to 5 days
Why mixed loading matters more than unit price
A single-product full container looks efficient on paper. In practice a 20ft container of one SKU ties up a large amount of capital and fills the warehouse with something that may take two seasons to sell. For distributors in markets like Thailand and Vietnam that is often the real constraint on growth.
Mixing categories in one container solves it:
